Abstract

Based on data from January 1 to June 19, 2020, there have been 3,087 cases of violence against children, including 852 physical violence, 768 psychological, and 1,848 cases of sexual violence, this figure is relatively high until June 15, 2020, the number of complaints reached 8,842 to this service. The forms and modes of violence that occur to children continue to increase both the quantity (amount) and the quality (sadistic). Based on this fact, it is necessary to disseminate information or counseling regarding to prevent the violence against children, both by adults and children. The community must be aware that the children is the future generation. Thus, they need to be protected during their growth and development from all things that can interfere with their mental and physical development. 

The purpose of this activity is to increase citizen participation to be active in activities which build children's confidence and creativity to anticipate various potential threats to children's lives. The method of implementing counseling is by persuasive communication to a group of community who lives in Pekayon Jaya. There are 25 participants consists of KPAD cadres, activists, and housewives. The results show that the role of parents is very important and strategic in preventing the violence against children. There are five important things to do such as improving communication within the family, establishing a security network around the house, creating a comfortable sphere, controlling the use of children's gadgets and monitoring the consumption of television.
